Terms of Service

1. About Us

HackMyPlant is a UK-based retailer supplying tissue culture plants, plant laboratory supplies, and related products.

By placing an order through our website, you agree to the terms set out below

2. Product Nature & Variability

Tissue Culture (TC) Plants

Tissue culture plants are living biological material and naturally vary in:

  • Size

  • Colour

  • Variegation expression

  • Growth rate

Images shown are representative only. We cannot guarantee specific colour levels, variegation patterns, or future growth outcomes.

Once dispatched, all TC plants are supplied as-is.

Live plants and tissue culture plants are classed as perishable goods and are therefore exempt from the 14-day cooling-off period.

3. Acclimatisation & Plant Care Responsibility

By purchasing TC plants, you acknowledge that:

  • TC plants require specialist care and acclimatisation

  • Loss may occur if incorrect conditions are provided

  • HackMyPlant is not responsible for plant loss after delivery

  • HackMyPlant takes care to ensure sterility at dispatch but cannot guarantee sterility after delivery due to factors outside our control.

Care guidance may be provided, but final responsibility rests with the customer.

4. Pre-Orders & Import Shipments

Some products are sold as pre-orders, particularly TC imports.

By placing a pre-order, you agree that:

  • Shipping dates are estimated, not guaranteed

  • Delays may occur due to logistics, customs, or transport

  • Orders will ship once the stock has arrived and been processed

Pre-order items are final sale unless damaged or incorrect on arrival.

5. TC Supplies & Custom-Made Products

Many TC supplies are custom prepared to order, including:

  • MS media

  • Agar solutions

  • PGR mixes

  • Custom formulations

These items are non-returnable and non-refundable, except where faulty or supplied incorrectly.

All laboratory supplies are sold for educational, experimental, or hobby use only.

6. No Guarantee of Results

HackMyPlant does not guarantee:

  • Growth success

  • Propagation outcomes

  • Commercial viability

  • Sterility beyond dispatch

Results depend on environment, technique, and user handling.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • HackMyPlant is not liable for indirect or consequential loss

  • Liability is limited to the value of the product purchased

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

8. Incorrect or Damaged Orders

If your order arrives damaged or incorrect:

  • Contact us within 24 hours (plants) or 48 hours (supplies)

  • Provide clear photographs

  • We will assess and resolve fairly

Claims outside this window may not be accepted.

9. Intellectual Property

All website content, images, branding, and text are the property of HackMyPlant and may not be reproduced without permission.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
